Menopause, Depression, and Mood Swings

DEPRESSION AND MOOD SWINGS

Volatility can be hormonal but may also be related to your inner consciousness guiding you to release certain emotional issues. .i.e Fear of no longer being wanted or lovable or loss of direction in life. Natural therapies can support the body and balance hormones and release emotional blocks before they become severe emotional symptoms.

What to Do:

Acupressure Points:  The Chinese identified hundreds of acupressure points. Stimulates the same points as acupuncture, but instead of needles, uses the pressure of the hands to release muscular tension, promote circulation of the blood and stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. Meridians are the energy pathways that connect acupressure points to one another and to the organs and glands that produce hormones. Applying pressure along certain meridian points triggers the flow of energy through the pathway. We call these points, trigger points because they are at a distance from the area they are benefiting.  It is fabulous for releasing emotional blocks at the root of chronic physical symptoms including those from menopause. Acupressure or acupuncture releases endorphins and other natural substances in your body that block pain. It releases toxins that are built up in the body’s tissue so drink water.Ideally, acupressure or acupuncture are integrated into full treatments session.

Self Care Acupressure: areas to rub on your body for depression include:

  1. Rub or tap crown of head  (Du 20).
  2. Rub wrists about 3 fingers above the wrist on inner arm and outer arm (P6 and SJ5);
  3. Rub inside wrist on little finger side (H7);
  4. Rub top of foot about 3 fingers width below big toe (Liv 3)

Reflex Points on Feet: Like acupressure, reflexology involves the use of therapeutic pressure of the reflex points of the foot and hand. These points correspond to specific organs and systems in the body. Every reflex in the body has a relating reflex in the foot. The reflex points on the feet that correspond to all the organs and hormones in the body. Pressure balances systems and organs including the glands which produce hormones during menopause. It produces a very relaxing state and body returns to state of balance as energy flows from fingers and toes to head. I work specific reflex points related to client symptoms into all treatments. It combines well with aromatherapy massage and acupressure.

Self Care Reflexology: Focus on the ovaries,  kidneys and adrenals, pituitary, thyroid:  These are found my massaging around Achilles tendon to get reflex points of uterus, ovaries; Rub instep and edge of foot to get adrenals and spinal reflexes; Rub all around large toe and near nail. Try rubbing edge of the thumb pads and finger tips.

Chakra Balancing: Energy centers that store historical information drawn from our life experience. They are disc shaped like a vortex. Each is associated with a specific type of energy, nerves and endocrine glands (like meridians). Each is connected to the body through energy fields or auras. Like meridians, chakras offer insights. There are 350 chakras and 7 major along spine.

Self Care Chakra Balancing: Menopausal mood swings are often related the the first and second chakras. These can be balanced by visualizing red in the base chakra at tail bone and orange into second chakra at navel area. In addition there are exercises to open chakras.   Yoga and meditation practices help to balance chakras on ongoing basis. For severe symptoms, acupuncture or energy healing techniques by a certified therapist would help.

Aromatherapy with Essential oils and Lymphatic Massage: Essential Oils can be very beneficial to help the nervous system. Aromatherapy massage has a direct effect on the nervous system. There are ganglia or nerve cells around spine that serve as reflex points. Nerve fibres pass through these ganglia and form groups. They go to different organs and glands of the body. Balancing and stimulating these points through massage has a normalizing effect on the functions of these organs. Excellent for enhancing circulation, balancing nervous system, removing congestion, promoting relaxation and improving immune system Great for relieving stress associated with overuse of adrenals. The oils are best massaged into the body using lympathic massage. Many oils have relaxing, sedative or even stimulating effect on nervous system. Great for insomnia and reducing stress, headaches and anxiety and mood swings. Aromatherapy massage has a direct effect on the nervous system. Chelation Energy Transfer

Chelation is a fundamental “hands-on” energy technique that can be used at the beginning of any healing
session. This simple process does three main things: charges, clears, and balances the human energy field or aura. Chelation accomplishes this by bringing energyinto the field with the help of the healer. This technique was developed
by Rev. Rosalyn Bruyere, and she adapted this word to mean simply to clear the
field of the patient by removing auric debris. Chelation also fills the energy field up with energy, as in blowing up a balloon, and generally balances it.This is done by running energy into the body. There is a specific sequence in chelation that is most effective because it emulates the way energy is naturally taken into the field – from the earth into the bottom of the feet and then up into the rest of the field. When energy is brought into the field this way, the energy
body will take it in and direct it to where it is most needed.

Energy is run into the body from the feet up because energy is normally drawn up from the earth through the
first chakra and the two chakras on the bottom of the feet. These earth energies are always needed in healing the physical body because they are of the lower physical vibrations. These earth energies are always needed in healing the physical body because they are of the lower physical vibration

During a Chelation session, the client may feelthe energy as warm, tingly, or pulsating. The energy healer may be able to feel
changes in the energy’s flow, such as in the frequency or rhythm of the pulsations or in the direction of the flow. After several minutes, once the intensity dies down and becomes consistent, steady and slow and the flow up
each side of the body is the same, you know that the general field is balanced in the area of the feet. Then it’s time to move into the next position. The energy is always moving up with changing hand positions from feet to legs to chakras on the torso and finishing at the throat and head.
